Cal Competes In The Bay Area This Weekend at Stanford

BERKELEY - California remains in the Bay Area this week with a trip to the Peninsula to compete at the Stanford Intercollegiate from Oct. 17-19 at the Stanford Golf Course.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament is hosted by Condoleezza Rice and will be played on the par-71, 6,130-yard course for the 19th consecutive year. Last season, the Bears finished 10th at the tournament with an 878 (+26). Nicola Rossler led Cal with a top 20 finish after carding a 73-69-72=214 (+1) to take 16th in her senior season. USC is the defending champion.

Cal won the tournament in the 2002 season with a two-stroke lead over Vanderbilt at the Pepsi Intercollegiate, as it was known then as a par-72 course. The Bears shot an 885 and were led by a third place finish from Vikki Lain (219, +3) and a fourth place finish from Ria Quiazon (220, +4).

COURSE: Stanford Golf Course (par-71; 6,130 yards) – Stanford, Calif.

FORMAT: Three-day, 54-hole tournament with 18 holes each day. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.

TEE TIMES: Friday (8:30 a.m.), Saturday (8:30 a.m.), Sunday (7:30 a.m.)
