BERKELEY, Calif. -- With a 5-1-1 road record in the books, California women’s soccer returns home to Berkeley to close out the regular season with three matches on Goldman Field. The three-game homestand begins this weekend with Oregon State on Friday at 2 p.m. and Oregon on Sunday at 1 p.m. There will be no broadcast for either game, but scoring updates will be provided on the @CalWomensSoccer Twitter.
LAST TIME OUT
Cal finished its final road weekend of the regular season in the Grand Canyon State and were put to the test against Arizona State and Arizona.
The Golden Bears found success against the No. 25 Sun Devils after Thelma Einarsdottir scored her first goal of the season in the 12th minute. A total team effort that included a shining effort from the Cal defense helped keep the explosive Sun Devils at bay, and the Bears came away with a 1-0 victory.
Against a very aggressive Arizona team, Cal put up a goal with the help of Taylor Comeau. The senior captain’s shot helped the Bears equalize in the 73rd minute and ultimately sent the game into double overtime. Unfortunately, neither team could find net in extra time and the game ended in a 1-1 stalemate.
