SEATTLE - Allyson Brahs and Megan Kufeld were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic first team, as a number of Huskies earned conference All-Academic honors as announced by Pac-12 commisioner Larry Scott Friday morning.
Brahs, a junior, is a bioengineering major from Newport Beach, Calif., and carries a 3.81 G.P.A. has started every game on the back line for the Huskies, contributing to eight shutouts. She was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District second team.
Kufeld is also in her junior year and is from Fremont, Calif. She is majoring in biology and carries a 3.96 G.P.A. Her academic awards have been well documented, as she was named to the Capital One Academic All-District first team and recieved the Prestident's medal last year at UW, the first time in 20 years a student-athlete has won the award given to just three undergraduates at the university each year.
The Huskies had 10 players earn All-Academic Honorable Mention honors as well, as listed below.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and appear in at least 50 percent of their team’s games.
