Cal's Men's Divers Perform Well in Austin

AUSTIN, TEXAS - It was a good weekend for Cal's men's divers as the Golden Bears represented themselves well at the prestigious Texas Diving Invitational in Austin. A highlight for Todd Mulzet's group was freshman Finn Scribbick, a native of San Antonio, finishing fourth on the platform Saturday with a mark of 48.44.

The Texas Invite was Scribbick's toughest competition of his young college career and the four-time Texas high school state champion performed well. On Friday Scribbick made the finals and placed seventh on the three-meter board (330.60).

Junior Peter Cyr's best effort was Saturday on the platform where he was eighth with a mark of 42.06.

Earlier, Cyr and Scribbick were champions in Cal’s last dual meet, Nov. 7 versus Wisconsin. Cyr, who hails from Hamden, Conn. placed first on the three-meter board versus the Badgers with a mark of 310.88. Scribbick captured the one-meter board against Wisconsin with a score of 313.58.
