Media Day Part 2: Oregon State, Stanford, Colorado, Arizona
CULVER CITY, Calif. -- Part 2 of our three-part podcast extravaganza record at Pac-12 Football Media Day at Sony Pictures Studios features Oregon State, Stanford, Colorado and Arizona.
Oregon State leads off the middle-third of the order (1:25). Head coach Mike Riley defers all Cody Vaz/Sean Mannion inquiries to Brandin Cooks, while the Beaver wide receiver thinks he’s a bigger smack talker than media day mate Rashaad Reynolds and reveals his star crush (hint: it’s a Pac-12 Networks staffer!).
Up next were the Pac-12 champions, with Stanford head coach David Shaw and linebacker Shayne Skov cozying up to Mike Yam and Rick Neuheisel (14:50). Skov gives a dead-on impersonation of Stitch from “Lilo & Stitch,” whereas Shaw expounds upon what quarterback Kevin Hogan needs to do to take the next step.
From a Pac-12 power to a hopeful Pac-12 up-and-comer, Colorado’s Mike MacIntyre and Paul Richardson put on the headsets next (29:30). The wide receiver says he is 100 percent ready to hit the gridiron coming off an ACL tear that kept him off the field in 2012. MacIntyre, on the other hand, gives one heck of a pitch to Buffs fans on the fence about whether they should come back to Folsom Field.
Bringing it home for part 2 was Arizona (42:00), and coach Rich Rodriguez kicks things off with the wedding/honeymoon story of a lifetime. Yam gets teased by Rodriguez for his hair, but at least he gets to bond with Terrence Miller over their affinity for skinny jeans.
