Washington softball head coach Heather Tarr couldn't be more excited for the return of softball to the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan next year.
The Washington Huskies will host the annual Husky Fall Classic this October 11-13. This will be the first action of the 2020 season for the Huskies, who are looking to make a fourth straight Women's College World Series and defend their Pac-12 championship from the 2019 season.
The roster for the 2020 Olympics was announced today by USA Softball, with Washington's own Ali Aguilar making the team. Aguilar is the fifth Husky ever to make an Olympic team, joining Jennifer Spediacci, Jaime Clark, Danielle Lawrie, and Jenn Salling.
The foursome will become the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th Bruin alums to participate on the Olympic stage.
Eight Huskies earned the NFCA's All-America Scholar Athlete award today in recognition for their excellence in the classroom as well as on the field. Kaija Gibson, Noelle Hee, Amirah Milloy, Rachel Ogasawara, Gabbie Plain, Sami Reynolds, Francesca Torraca, and Brittany Werre were all honored by the NFCA with this award.
