Alvelo Stifles UCF In 3-1 Win

In the first of two games Friday, the 5 Washington Huskies stymied the UCF Knights, winning 3-1. Taran Alvelo dominated throughout, striking out ten in her second consecutive complete-game victory. Offensively, Taryn Atlee, Kaija Gibson, and Emma Helm all had multiple hits, with Helm hitting her first home run of the season.  

Washington Walks Off With 3-2 Win Over #12 Arkansas

A tight pitching duel went Washington's way thanks to a late comeback, with the 5 Huskies beating the 12 Arkansas Razorbacks 3-2. Washington trailed for much of the game before back-to-back hits off the outfield fence brought the tying and winning runs home in the bottom of the seventh.

Big Second Inning Helps Huskies To 7-5 Win

The 5 Washington Huskies used another big inning to wrap up a win, taking down 25 Mississippi State in their first of two games Thursday night. Washington score six runs in the second inning, their biggest inning since April 7 of last season, en route to a 7-2 win.

Gabbie Plain Named To Aussie Spirit Team

Softball Australia announced the 2019 Travelodge Aussie Spirit squad today, with Washington's own Gabbie Plain earning her way onto the elite squad. The 30-person team will send a group to compete in the National Fastpitch League this year. A group of 17 players will be chosen from the Aussie Spirit squad to represent Australia at the 2019 Asia/Oceania Olympic Qualifier in September.

Second Week In Mexico For Huskies Features Four Games

After a successful first weekend at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge, the 5 Washington Huskies will stay in Mexico for four more games this weekend. Washington will take on 25 Mississippi State, Arkansas, UCF, and North Dakota State in a pair of doubleheaders, set for Thursday and Friday, before returning to Seattle.

Washington Powers Past #19 Baylor 8-2

The 2 Washington Huskies had their bats come alive against 19 Baylor, earning an 8-2 win after blasting 14 hits against the Bears. Sami Reynolds had four singles for Washington, while Morganne Flores went 3-for-5 with the first home run of the year for the Huskies. In all, five different Huskies had multiple hits.
