The 5 Washington Huskies took down the Cal Poly Mustangs 4-2 Friday afternoon. Washington's leadoff batter reached safely every single inning of the game, jump-starting the offense. Kaija Gibson would drive in two runs in the game, including the go-ahead run, while SilentRain Espinoza had her second career multi-hit game.

The Utes are back on the road for a third-straight week when they travel to the Mary Nutter Classic this weekend.   

The 5 Washington Huskies are off to southern California this weekend, taking part in the Mary Nutter Collegiate Challenge. Washington will play six games in three days, including two against ranked opponents and two more against teams receiving votes in the polls. The Huskies will play Cal Poly, 16 Kentucky, Cal State Fullerton, Missouri, Northwestern, and 23 Texas Tech.

It was another difficult day for Utah Softball at the SPC Elite Invitational as it suffered a pair of losses. The Utes lost to No. 23 Ohio State, 10-2, and No. 6 Tennessee, 10-1.
