Two track and field alumni and a pioneering staff member have been selected to receive the University of Oregon athletic department's annual awards, athletic director Rob Mullens announced Friday.
The track and field competition begins Tuesday, Aug. 6 in Lima, Peru.
The group of former UO standouts combined for six medals over the past three days in Des Moines, Iowa.
Five former UO standouts advanced to the next round, including three in the women's 200 meters.
Friday marked her seventh appearance in the 100-meter final at the USA Championships, and her fourth medal.
Briyahna DesRosiers (52.02) advances to Friday's 400-meter semifinal at 4:56 p.m. (PT).
