The 2019-20 indoor track & field season can be best described by three words: fast, thrilling and exceptional. From its spectacular performances and truly inspiring efforts, the University of Utah track & field team didn't let up after completing one of its best cross country season's in school history.
The Utah track & field team saw 17 student-athletes earn MPSF All-Academic selections.
"The show must go on," as the saying goes and so we continue our "Getting to Know U" series, this time featuring freshman Jasie York. A native of Cedar City, Utah, York came to the U a state champion in the 200m and 400m at Cedar High School.
The University of Utah track and field team capped off the 2020 MPSF Championships on Saturday with a bang setting a new school-record during the last event of the meet in the 4x400m relay. As a team, the Utes finished in a tie for 11th with Pac-12 foe California, totaling 17 points.
The University of Utah track & field team opened up competition at the MPSF Championships on Friday inside the Dempsey Indoor Facility, which almost saw the pentathlon school-record fall once again courtesy of Kolbi Sims — who tied the record set back in 2007 by U of U hall of famer Amanda Feigt earlier this season.
The Utah track and field team travels back to Seattle for the fourth time this indoor season to compete at the 2020 MPSF Indoor Championships, Friday and Saturday, February 28-29 at the Dempsey Indoor Facility. This marks the ninth MPSF Championships the Utes have competed in and are still in search for its first-ever championship.
