USC's Michael Norman was named The Bowerman winner at the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) convention in San Antonio, Texas tonight (Dec. 20). The Bowerman is given out annually to the top men's and women's collegiate performer and is track and field's highest honor for a college athlete.
Freshman sprinter Brendon Stewart really burst onto the track and field scene last year with a huge indoor season. He posted PRs of 6.66 in the 60m dash which ranked second among high school athletes and ran 6.28 in the 55m dash which ranked tied for fourth among high school runners. He won 55m races at the 2018 Virginia Showcase and the 2018 Millrose Games. Stewart is from Laurel, Md. and we had a chance to catch up with him as he took a break from studying for finals.
