Oregon distance runner Maggie Schmaedick is the Ducks' female recipient of the 2016-17 Tom Hansen Medal. Schmaedick 0.1-second victory helped the Ducks win the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championships by a single point over Michigan. She earned a 3.73 GPA with a major in biology and served as an executive board member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
