Colorado looked to have the game locked down with a 31-3 lead over Oregon State heading into the third quarter, however the Beavers rumbled back by scoring 25 unanswered points and narrowing the lead to 31-28. Following a successful field goal by Colorado late in the fourth quarter, Oregon State quarterback Jake Luton completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to tie the game with 29 seconds left. Oregon State missed the extra point, sending the game into overtime, where they subsequently grabbed the 41-34 victory. Luton finished the game by going 28 of 39 for 310 yards and three touchdowns.
