The Stanford Cardinal became the 2019 Pac-12 Women's Basketball champions with a 64-57 victory over Oregon on Sunday at MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas. The win marked the 13th Pac-12 conference championship for the Stanford program as the Cardinal improve to 13-3 overall in conference championship games. Although the Ducks took down Stanford by 40 points last month, marking the worst loss in head coach Tara VanDerveer's tenure, the Cardinal led Oregon for 33 of 40 minutes in the tournament championship. Alana Smith became the second D-1 player in the last 20 seasons to finish with 70+ 3-point field goals and 70+ blocks in the same season. DiJonai Carrington led the Cardinal in scoring with 22 points and nine rebounds for her tenth-straight game in double-digit scoring. For Oregon, Sabrina Ionescu, who played every minute of the tournament, led all scorers with 27 points, 12 rebounds and five assists.
