Freshman forward Deandre Ayton made an immediate impact on the Wildcats. He was a force offensively and defensively, tallying 21 double-doubles (third most in the nation). He averaged 19.9 points and 11.4 rebounds while helping lead Arizona to a Pac-12 regular season title. His performance guaranteed him freshman and player of the year honors.
