Needing a win to secure a share of the conference title, No. 13 Oregon shut out Oregon State 10-0. Quarterback Norm Van Brocklin connected with wingback John McKay for the game's only touchdown. Oregon, then the Webfoots, finished the season with a 9-1 record and accepted an invited to play SMU in the Cotton Bowl.
