After struggling offensively for the past few games, Utah men's basketball got back to its winning ways with a 79-65 victory over visiting USC in Salt Lake City on Sunday. The Runnin' Utes had been on a three-game losing streak where they were averaging just 57 points per game, so the strong offensive showing was a welcome sight for head coach Larry Krystkowiak. Sophomore Timmy Allen led the way for the Runnin' Utes with his first double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds) since January while junior Alfonso Plummer tied his career-high with 18 points.
