After another season that saw record-breaking offensive numbers, Washington State football ended its 2019 campaign with a 31-21 loss to Air Force in the Cheez-it Bowl. The two teams employed nearly opposite game plans. Washington State utilized its air raid offense for 351 passing yards, while Air Force kept it almost completely on the ground, rushing for 373 yards. Playing in the final game of his record-setting career, Anthony Gordon notched three touchdowns on 28-for-42 passing. The seniors' 5,559 total yards broke the Pac-12 record for total offense in a season, previously held by Marcus Mariota. Brandon Arconado had a final game to remember as well, with 167 receiving yards and a touchdown, making him the first Cougar to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season since 2014.
