Cal women's basketball fell 72-61 to No. 5 Connecticut Sunday on the road, but kept things close the whole game, outscoring UConn 14-10 in the final quarter. Sara Anastasieska led the Bears with 25 points on the day, adding two rebounds and two assists. Christyn Williams led Connecticut with 24 points, seven rebounds and three assists. Cal shot 35.3% (24-68) from the field and UConn shot 41.5% (27-65). Cal is 0-2 on the young season with the loss and returns to action Sunday, Nov. 17 against UC Riverside.
