No. 22 USC men's football ended its season with a whimper, falling to No. 16 Iowa 42-24 in the 2019 Holiday Bowl in San Diego. Quarterback Kedon Slovis had to leave the game in the second half with an injury but he ended the season with an NCAA freshmen record 71.9% completion percentage. Slovis went 22/30 on pass attempts for 260 yards and two touchdowns before being replaced by Matt Fink (12/18, 74 yards.) The Trojans finished their season 8-5, a notable improvement on last year's 5-7 mark.
