Jayden Daniels throws for 284 yards and two touchdowns in his collegiate debut, guiding the Sun Devils to a 30-7 win over Kent State in the season opener Thursday in Tempe. Daniels' passing yards are the most by an ASU quarterback in his first career game since at least 1996. Brandon Aiyuk hauled in four catches for a career-best 140 yards while Eno Benjamin ran for 102 yards on 22 carries. ASU's defense held Kent State to 200 total yards — the fewest under Herm Edwards.
