The Stanford Cardinal beat the Vanderbilt Commodores 5-4 Saturday in game 2 of their super regional matchup to force a winner-take-all game 3 on Sunday. The hero today was Wayne Taylor, as his walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth gave the win to Stanford. Freshman Cal Quantrill started and pitched seven strong innings, giving up six hits and two earned runs. Reliever A.J. Vanegas struggled at times in his two innings, walking four and allowing the tying run to score in the top of the ninth on a hit by pitch with the bases loaded. The decisive game 3 begins Sunday at 12 p.m. PT.
