Stanford football upsets No. 14 USC by a final score of 42-28 on Saturday, Sept. 11 in Los Angeles. The Cardinal moves to 6-3 under head coach David Shaw when the Trojans have been ranked. Sophomore quarterback Tanner McKee finished with career-highs in passing yards (234) and passing touchdowns (2), along with completing 16-of-23 pass attempt and rushing for one touchdown. Junior running back Nathaniel Peat took off for a career-long 87-yard touchdown run against the Trojans; Peat finished with six carries for 113 yards and one touchdown. Stanford moves to 1-0 in Pac-12 play and 1-1 overall, while USC drops to 0-1 in Pac-12 play and 1-1 overall.
