USC's Jackie Gilbert was voted the 2019 Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year after leading the Conference in draw controls per game (6.11), which also ranked 22nd in the country. The senior was a key component in USC’s stout defense that topped the league in caused turnovers (202), goals against average (7.94) and scoring defense (8 gpg), which ranked seventh nationally.
