CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 21 Oregon State showed improvement in the second meet of the season against No. 4 Utah, Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum. The Beavers fell short on the scoreboard but tallied a season-high score, 195.450, in the process.
The Washington GymDawgs shined bright in the desert, earning a win over Pac-12 opponent Arizona 196.525-195.650. Washington went over a team score of 49.000 on two different events, including a score of 49.400 on beam that was the team's highest since putting up a score of 49.475 on March 9 of last season.
With one meet in the books, the Washington GymDawgs will start Pac-12 competition this week, heading to Tucson to take on the Arizona Wildcats. This will be the first of five Pac-12 meets for the GymDawgs this year, including the next four meets in a row. The GymDawgs have won two of their last three Pac-12 openers.
