SAN FRANCISCO — Seven Pac-12 women’s soccer teams have advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time in Conference history.
In the first-ever postseason edition of the rivalry, the four-seed Washington Huskies defeated the Seattle U Redhawks 1-0 on Shae Holmes' first career goal. The win pushes the Huskies on to the second round, set for next weekend in Tallahassee, Florida, against South Florida.
The Oregon women's soccer program signed seven players to National Letters of Intent on Thursday.
SAN FRANCISCO — Nine Pac-12 teams earned bids to the 2019 NCAA Women’s Soccer Tournament, tied for the most of any conference. STANFORD claimed its unprecedented fifth-straight outright Pac-12 crown and was tabbed the No. 1 seed in the NCAA in Tournament for the fourth-straight year.
Sakura Yoshida, who led Oregon in assists in 2019, was named to the Pac-12 all-freshman team on Wednesday.
The Pac-12 Conference announced its end-of-the-year awards, with three Huskies earning honors. Lesle Gallimore was named the Pac-12's Coach of the Year. Summer Yates earned All-Pac-12 Second Team honors, while Kaylene Pang earned a place on the All-Pac-12 Third Team.
