It was a frustrating result for the 19th-ranked Husky volleyball team tonight as UW very well could have swept 14th-ranked USC with a couple more well-timed points, but instead the Trojans rallied and defeated the Huskies in four sets, 24-26, 25-22, 28-26, 25-18, in front of 2,006 fans at Alaska Airlines Arena.
The 18th-ranked Husky volleyball team won some of the longest and most physical rallies it has played this season, but No. 2 Stanford won far too many of the shorter rallies tonight for the Dawgs to keep up.
Junior middle blocker Avie Niece nearly had a career-high in kills by the end of the first set. She would get there and then some over the next two sets, finishing with 13 kills to lead the 18th-ranked Huskies to a 30-28, 25-21, 25-20 win at Haas Pavilion over California
Back on the road for the second week in a row, the Husky volleyball team will play back-to-back nights for the only time in conference play, taking on California and No. 2 Stanford this Friday and Saturday
