Jul 16, 2013

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The Pac-12 Conference announced today that the California at Washington women’s soccer match on Sunday, November 3 at Husky Field will air live on ESPNU at 2 p.m. PT. The event is one of 58 matches scheduled to be aired in 2013 and the first to be broadcasted outside of the Pac-12 Networks.

California closed out the 2012 campaign with a 16-6 overall record and an 8-3 Pac-12 performance. The Bears advanced to the second round of the NCAA tournament and finished the season ranked No. 21 in the final NSCAA rankings. Losing only three seniors from the 2012 squad, the Bears will have an experienced roster for 2013, including 2012 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year Ifeoma Onumonu.

Washington opened up 2012 with seven straight wins and finished the year 10-8-3 overall. The Huskies received an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, falling to Auburn 2-1 in the first round. All-Conference honorable mention selection and senior forward Lindsey Elston returns for Washington, along with All-Freshman team member Isabel Farrell.  In June, the Huskies spent two weeks on a foreign tour in Italy, going 3-0 in friendlies against Italian competition.

Cal opens up the 2013 slate on the road against UC Irvine while Washington heads to Honolulu to start the season against the University of Central Florida as part of the Hawaii Invitational, both set for August 23, 2013.
