Wildcats Down Northwestern, 3-1 in Hawaii

TUCSON, Ariz. – Madi Kingdon had a double-double with 18 kills and 21 digs to lead the Arizona volleyball team to a 3-1 (25-22, 25-27, 25-20, 25-19) victory over Northwestern to open the Outriggers Hotels and Resorts Volleyball Challenge on Thursday night inside the Stan Sheriff Center.

Volleyball Ousts Youngstown State in Illini Classic opener

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Arizona State volleyball (7-0) swept the Youngstown State Penguins (3-4), 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-21) Thursday night to snag its seventh-straight win. The Sun Devils are only one of two teams to start off the season with 21-straight set wins. 

No. 23 Bears Roll Past Cal Poly

BERKELEY – Cal Poly may have had an idea of what No. 23 Cal was trying to do Thursday night, but the Bears once again simply had too much offensive firepower for their opponent. Senior outside hitter Adrienne Gehan had 16 kills and 9 digs and junior opposite hitter Christina Higgins added 10 kills and four blocks as Cal beat the Mustangs, 25-15, 25-22, 25-16 during the Hilton Garden Inn Invitational.

Stanford Sweeps Air Force

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The eighth-ranked Stanford women’s volleyball team swept Air Force, 25-11, 25-14, 25-15, Thursday, in the Service Academy Challenge at the Pentagon Athletic Center in Washington, D.C. The Cardinal moves to 3-2 on the season, while the Falcons dropped to 2-6.

11th-Ranked Bruins on Rocky Mountain High After Sweep of Denver

DENVER, Colo. — Junior Karsta Lowe led all players with 12 kills, committing only one error in 22 attempts for a .500 hitting percentage, while senior Kelly Reeves added eight kills, a .389 hitting clip and 13 digs, as the 11th-ranked Bruins swept Denver on Thursday at the Denver Invitational. Set scores were 25-20, 25-22, 25-18.
