No. 1 Bears Drop First Game of 2013 to San Diego

BERKELEY – The top-ranked California Golden Bears (10-1-2, 4-0-1 Pac-12) fell for the first time this season 1-0 to the University of San Diego Toreros (4-6-4, 0-3-3 West Coast Conference) Friday afternoon at Goldman Field in Berkeley. San Diego’s leading scorer, midfielder Connor Brandt tallied his fourth goal of the season in the 52nd minute to grab a win for the Toreros.

Batteer's Winner Seals It

Zach Batteer’s brace, capped with a 97th-minute blast, snapped Stanford’s three-match winless drought and sent the Cardinal to a 2-1 overtime victory over San Francisco Friday night at Laird Q. Cagan Stadium.

No. 4 Bruins Play Oregon State to a 1-1 Draw

The fourth-ranked UCLA men’s soccer team played its fourth consecutive overtime match and picked up its third straight draw, playing the Oregon State Beavers to a 1-1 tie on Friday night at Drake Stadium. Junior Aaron Simmons scored UCLA’s only goal of the match. The Bruins moved to 7-3-4 with the draw and are now 2-1-3 in Pac-12 play. Oregon State is now 7-6-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the conference.

No. 3 UW Stays Unbeaten, Dominates SDSU

SAN DIEGO — No. 3 Washington (11-0-4, 4-0-2 Pac-12) earned a businesslike win, dominating San Diego State (4-8-1, 1-4-1 Pac-12) at both ends to stay unbeaten and earn three big points on the road. The Dawgs got goals from Cristian Roldan and Darwin Jones to move into first place in the Pac-12 with No. 1 California idle in the Pac-12.
