ASU's Jahii Carson nets career-high 40 points in win over UNLV

Nov 19, 2013

The 2013-14 season is off to a fast start for the Sun Devils, especially for their sophomore guard. On Tuesday night, Jahii Carson helped propel the Sun Devils to an 86-80 road win over UNLV. It wasn't surprising that the Mesa, Ariz., native led his team in points. What was perhaps a little more unexpected was that he dropped a career-high 40 points on the Rebels.

Carson's offensive outburst was so drastic that he doubled the point output of his closest teammate, senior guard Jermaine Marshall (20). Through the first four games, the Sun Devil sophomore is averaging 18.7 points a game, up 0.2 from his breakout freshman season.

Most importantly for Carson and his teammates: ASU is off to a perfect 4-0 start for the sixth time in the last 29 seasons. If they can win their next game against Bradley, the Sun Devils will start 5-0 for the first time since the 1985-86 season.
