Eight Wildcats Earn Pac-12 Recognition

TUCSON, Ariz. – Eight University of Arizona soccer players were recognized by the Pac-12 on Thursday as the conference announced its All-Academic teams.

Junior Brie DeFelice, sophomore Sheaffer Skadsen, junior Julia Glanz, senior Shannon Heinzler, junior Emily Lai, sophomore Kaitlyn Lopez, junior Mykaylin Rosenquist and sophomore Hannah Wong earned Pac-12 All-Academic Honorable Mention accolades.

To be eligible for selection to the academic teams, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.

Lai and Rosenquist each recorded a goal and participated in 16 of 20 matches. Wong scored a total of four goals and attempted 21 shots in 20 games played. Lopez recorded five goals, one assist and attempted 26 shots in 20 matches played in. Glanz scored two goals and recorded 11 shots in 19 games played. DeFelice participated in 20 matches, recording three shots with one on goal. Skadsen has an overall GPA of 4.0 and participated in 20 matches, logging 10 shots. 

For the 2013 season, the Wildcats posted an overall record of 9-7-4 and went 4-6-1 in conference play earning the first winning record the program has seen since 2005.
