Stanford Soccer Camp-O-Rama

Dec 10, 2013

STANFORD, Calif. -- Six Stanford players have been invited to U.S. youth national team camps, from Dec. 14-21 in Sunrise, Fla.

U.S. U-20 coach Michelle French called four Cardinal into her squad: freshman goalkeeper Jane Campbell, sophomore defender Laura Liedle, and freshman defenders Stephanie Amack and Maddie Bauer.

U.S. U-23 coach Steve Swanson called up fifth-year senior forward Courtney Verloo and junior forward Chioma Ubogagu.

Both squads include 24 players. However, the U-20 roster will be whittled to 20 after camp and that group will represent the U.S. at the CONCACAF U-20 championship tournament Jan. 9-19 in George Town, Cayman Islands.

The U-20 and U-23 camps run concurrently and the sides will scrimmage each other throughout the week.

All six players started for Stanford's team that finished 15-6-1 and advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament before losing to eventual national champion UCLA, 2-0. Stanford returns nine starters next year, including all six U.S. representatives.

Bauer and Verloo were named to the NSCAA All-Pacific Region first team, and they joined Ubogagu in receiving All-Pac-12 recognition.
