Nick Hartle Named Pac-12 Men’s Track Athlete of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – UCLA sophomore Nick Hartle was named the Pac-12 Men’s Track  Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Hartle blistered the 800m race, finishing with a lifetime best time of 1:47.51. The personal-best of over a second and a half won the race in the dual against Washington State that featured All-American Jesse Jorgensen.

The 1:47.51 moved Hartle onto the UCLA top-10 list as he eclipsed the 1:47.70 of Jack Preijers (1984) to rank sixth in the record books. The time is currently the fastest in Division I this outdoor season by nearly a full second.

Hartle also ran a leg on the 4x400m relay which won the final race of the dual meet against the Cougars with a time of 3:10.93. The relay time is currently 10th in Division I.
