Video: Birthday girl calls a scoring play in Arizona football spring game

Apr 12, 2014

Spring football games are a time to analyze rosters, solidify positions...and let fans call plays? For the Arizona Wildcats, yes they are.

Head coach Rich Rodriguez ventured into the stands during the second half of Saturday's spring game and randomly chose a few fans to be coach for one play each. The results were both good and bad, but everyone had fun and some even made great play calls.

What a way to celebrate a birthday! And how about that shirt? "I'm a fair catch." We're diggin' it. Not to mention RichRod taking over as replay official and making the touchdown call stand all on his own.
