Inside Practice -- "This is What I Do."
The comparisons have been made as to how receiver Richard Mullaney reminds people of the great Mike Hass, the Beavers’ 2005 Biletnikoff recipient as the nation’s most outstanding receiver. Both have Biletnikoff’s “Stickum” like hands that seem to snare passes out of the air for crucial plays.
Mullaney was responsible for a first down or a touchdown on 39 of his 52 receptions last season, largely an unnoticed statistic. That’s a 75 percent conversion rate and many of those receptions were in long yardage situations.
Today we see what it’s like to be a receiver in the Beaver system as the OSU video team focuses on Mullaney and receivers coach Brent Brennan.
The Spring Football Showcase is scheduled for May 3 at Reser Stadium. The day begins at 10 a.m. with the 50-Yard-Line Sale at the Truax Center that features actual game and practice jerseys, shoes and other OSU Athletics apparel. The popular autograph session starts at 10:45 a.m. with the team taking the field at 1 p.m. The game portion of the day will air live on the Pac-12 Networks.
