In softball, figuring out how many runs score on a home run is typically a pretty simple equation. But on Thursday afternoon in Berkeley, things got a little surreal and a lot more complicated following a baserunning blunder in a softball game between Washington and Cal.
With two runners on and one out in the top of third inning, Whitney Jones launched an apparent three-run homer to centerfield. But as Jones began her trot, watch the bizarre circumstances that cost the Huskies a run.
That run loomed large as the Bears rallied to close the deficit to one in the sixth inning, but the Huskies held on for the 4-3 victory.
