Pac-12 softball picks up record 42 NFCA All-Region honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Pac-12 softball dominated the NFCA Pacific and West All-Region honors, with a Conference-record 42 student-athletes from all nine institutions named on the first, second and third teams for both regions as announced by the NFCA this morning. The full list of Pac-12 honorees can be found below. 

ARIZONA was one of three programs with all eight nominated players earning all-region accolades. OREGON had seven selections, while UCLA, ARIZONA STATE and WASHINGTON all picked up six nods. The Huskies also tied for the lead in first-team selections with five. 

The Pacific Region first team was all Pac-12, with all 12 spots occupied by a Pac-12 student-athlete from OREGON, WASHINGTON, UTAH, CALIFORNIA and OREGON STATE. Six players earned second-team honors while two were named to the third team. In the West Region, ARIZONA, ARIZONA STATE and UCLA combined for nine first-team accolades. The three schools, along with STANFORD, also placed six on the second team and seven on the third team. 

In total, 392 players from 158 different programs were honored on NFCA Division I All-Region squads. The 2014 NFCA Division I All-America teams will be announced on Wednesday, May 28. To view all of the 2014 NFCA Division I All-Region teams, visit nfca.org.
