Dykes, Goff and McClure to Rep Cal at Pac-12 Media Days

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Cal will be represented at 2014 Pac-12 Football Media Days by head coach Sonny Dykes, sophomore quarterback Jared Goff and junior safety Stefan McClure. The two days of the event featuring on the West Coast will be held Wednesday and Thursday at Paramount Studios before Dykes travels Friday along with other Pac-12 head coaches to ESPN for a series of interviews commonly known as “The Car Wash”.

The Pac-12 Football Media Day Special will air live on Pac-12 Networks and online at pac-12.com free of charge Wednesday and Thursday from Paramount Studios (9 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. PT). Cal’s 40-minute Main Interview Session is scheduled to begin Wednesday at 10:10 a.m., while its live appearance on the Pac-12 Networks/Pac-12 Digital is slated for 10:52 a.m.

Wednesday’s activities begin with a group photo with the Pac-12 Championship and Rose Bowl trophies featuring head coaches and both student-athletes from each of the Pac-12 schools.

Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott will open the Main Interview Session in the Paramount Theatre Lobby on Wednesday when he addresses the media at 9 a.m. College Football Playoff Senior Director of Communications will close out the Main Interview Session with a Q&A at 1:30 p.m.

Six teams will be available to the media at the Main Interview Session during each of the event’s two days with Arizona, Cal, USC, Oregon, Washington State and Utah the participants on Wednesday’s opening day.

Pac-12 Networks President Lydia Murphy-Stephans begins Thursday’s Main Interview Session at 9 a.m. and will be followed in order by Arizona State, Oregon State, UCLA, Washington, Stanford and Colorado.

Other activities for each school include the television/radio tent village, sessions with ESPN, FOX and the Pac-12 Networks, and additional one-on-one interview opportunities. Players will also have the opportunity to attend the Kimmel Concert Series to check out a performance by Common and go to dinner at the Hard Rock Café on Wednesday before a Thursday tour of Paramount Studios.

Cal opens its 2014 training camp Aug. 4 in advance of the team’s 2014 season at Northwestern on Aug. 30 (2:30 p.m. CT/12:30 p.m. PT, ABC/ESPN2).

Cal hosts the first of six home games at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium against Sacramento State on Sept. 6 (Noon PT, Pac-12 Networks). The Bears will also play Pac-12 opponents Colorado (Sept. 27), Washington (Oct. 11), UCLA (Oct. 18) and Stanford (Nov. 22) in Berkeley before concluding the 2014 regular season by hosting a non-conference game against BYU on Nov. 29.

In addition, Cal will play a home contest against Oregon in the first-ever collegiate football game at Levi’s® Stadium on Friday, Oct. 24. The game will be televised by FOX Sports 1 with kickoff slated for 7 p.m. PT.

Cal has Pac-12 road games at Arizona (Sept. 20), Washington State (Oct. 4), Oregon State (Nov. 1) and USC (Nov. 13), with the final road game of the regular season against the Trojans an ESPN Thursday night contest (6 p.m. PT).
