Yan Finishes Fifth At Canadian Amateur

WOODSTOCK, Ontario -- Incoming freshman Jing Yan finished off an impressive week at the Canadian Amateur, placing tied for fifth. The native of China was 4-under for the week, playing at Craigowan Oxford Golf & Country Club.
Jan shot a final round of 2-under 69 to get to 4-under, 10 shots off the lead set by Augusta James of Canada. Jan made four birdies and two bogeys on the day for her third-straight round on the 60's.
Charlotte Thomas also played in the event, but fell back into a tie for 20th after a round of 5-over 76 on Friday. Thomas finished the tournament at 6-over.
The Husky women will continue a busy summer in two weeks with several Dawgs playing in the U.S. Women's Amateur at the Nassau Country Club in Glen Cove, N.Y.
