Peter Wright Assists Youth Tennis Fundraiser

STANFORD, Calif. –
With Cal men’s tennis head coach Peter Wright serving as emcee, Youth Tennis Advantage (YTA), led by President Sandy Walker and Executive Director Mike Skinner, held a fundraising dinner on Monday night at the Bank of the West Classic and netted over $200,000 for youth tennis in the Bay Area.

Guests at the event included San Francisco Giants Hall of Famer Willie Mays, his godson and Willie Mays, Sabine Lisicki & Barry Bonds at YTA fundraiserformer Giant Barry Bonds, women’s tennis star Sabine Lisicki and broadcaster Ted Robinson. A YTA vice president, Wright also served as auctioneer at the dinner. The top bid of the evening went to Mays’ personal Giants suite, with the prize including a guest appearance by Mays and Bonds.

The dinner also honored Arthur Ashe Award winner and Cal alumnus Bob Sockolov, whose connections to youth tennis, the San Francisco Giants and Bay Area philanthropy have earned him respect and admiration throughout the community.
