McDonald’s Red-Blue Game Set for Pac-12 Networks Broadcast

Sep 25, 2014

TUCSON, Ariz. The Arizona men’s basketball program will team with Pac-12 Networks to televise the 2014 McDonald’s Red-Blue Game, the Wildcats’ annual season-opening showcase that will take place at McKale Center on Saturday, Oct. 18.

Tickets for the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game went on sale on Saturday, Aug. 30, and needed just 90 minutes to become the event’s fourth sellout in as many years.

Pac-12 Networks will televise the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game as a same-day delayed presentation across all seven Networks. While the event itself is set for 3 p.m. MST, the time of the broadcast is still to be determined and will be dependent on the Pac-12 Networks’ football programming on Oct. 18.

The Pac-12 Networks’ dates for determining its football broadcast, and subsequently the broadcast of the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game, will occur between Oct. 6 and Oct. 12.

The length of the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game broadcast has yet to be determined, but it is anticipated that it will be between one and two hours in length. Pac-12 Networks’ telecast of the McDonald’s Red-Blue Game will be available on Pac-12 Now and Pac-12.com for digital consumption, but the event will not be streamed live at 3 p.m. MST.

The Wildcats return three starters and 10 letterwinners from last season’s squad that went 33-5, won the regular-season Pac-12 championship and advanced to the program’s second Elite Eight under head coach Sean Miller. In addition to a veteran core anchored by senior T.J. McConnell, juniors Brandon Ashley, Kaleb Tarczewski and Gabe York, and sophomore Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, UA also welcomes the nation’s seventh-ranked recruiting class to campus this fall.
