Washington To Cactus Bowl Vs. Oklahoma State

The Washington football team will participate in a bowl game for a fifth straight season, and its 35th time ever, as the Huskies have accepted an invitation to play in the 26th annual TicketCity Cactus Bowl.

The Huskies will face Oklahoma State in the game, which will be played in Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz., on Jan. 2. Kickoff is 8:15 p.m. MT/7:15 p.m. PT and the game will air live on ESPN television.

The Huskies (8-5 overall and 4-5 in the Pac-12) will be playing in a fifth different bowl in the last five years and will be making its first appearance in the Cactus Bowl, formerly known as the Insight.com Bowl, the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl and the Copper Bowl, among others.

Oklahoma State (6-6 overall, 4-5 in the Big 12) qualified for the game with its overtime victory over Oklahoma Saturday. Washington has faced the Cowboys just twice in the two programs' histories with each team winning once. In 1980, the Huskies won 24-18 in Stillwater. In the 1985 season opener, OSU beat the UW, 31-17, at Husky Stadium.
