Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch Named to Pro Bowl

Former Cal running back Marshawn Lynch and quarterback Aaron Rodgers were selected Tuesday to the Pro Bowl to be played January 25 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. Kickoff is slated for 6 pm MST/5 pm PST with television coverage by ESPN. 

Lynch (Seattle) and Rodgers (Green Bay) have each led their teams to the playoffs in 2014 with both tied for first place in their respective divisions with 11-4 records heading into the final day of the NFL's regular season this Sunday.

Green Bay hosts Detroit on the final day of the NFL season Sunday with the winner taking the NFC North crown, while Seattle can win at least a share of the NFC West title and clinch clinch the top seed and home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs with a victory at home over St. Louis also on Sunday. Both games are scheduled to be televised by FOX and begin at 1:25 p.m. PT.

Rodgers has completed 324-of-498 passes for 4,155 yards with 35 touchdowns and six interceptions over the first 15 games of 2014 for a 111.0 quarterback rating that is second in the NFL with his TD passes third and interceptions the fewest among all regulars. He has thrown for 4,000 or more yards five times in the last seven seasons while his 35 passing TD's are the third-highest total of his career.

Lynch co-leads the NFL with 12 rushing touchdowns and is fourth in the league with 1,246 yards rushing on 266 carries.  He also had a 79-yard touchdown run in his most recent game in a victory at Arizona that was the longest of his career. Lynch has gone over the 1,000-yard rushing mark for four straight seasons and six times in his career.
