Arizona's Hollis-Jefferson named Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week

SAN FRANCISCO - ARIZONA sophomore forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been named Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for play from Feb. 9-15, the Conference office announced today in a vote of media who cover Pac-12 men’s basketball. 

The Chester, Pa., native averaged 17.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals in a pair of road wins for the Wildcats. Hollis-Jefferson posted 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting to go with 9 rebounds, two assists and two steals in Arizona’s 86-62 win at Washington. Two nights later at Washington State, he posted his second double-double of the season and fourth of his career with 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting and 10 rebounds in a 86-59 win over the Cougars. For the week, he shot 15-of-19 (.780) from the field and was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to a combined 54.9 percent shooting in the two wins. While his defensive efforts were key in Arizona holding the Washington schools to a combined 38.7 percent shooting from the field.

The honor marks Hollis-Jefferson’s first-career weekly selection. It is the 89th selection all-time for Arizona. 

The Wildcats host USC and UCLA this week and will play USC on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. MT, then UCLA on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 7 p.m. MT.
