Chasson Randle passes Gary Payton on Pac-12's all-time scoring list

Feb 26, 2015

Chasson Randle keeps on chipping away at the Pac-12 record books.

The Stanford senior has put together a fine season in his final year on The Farm, and it continued with some more history on Thursday night. In the second half of the 75-48 victory over Oregon State, Randle converted an and-one attempt to surpass Hall of Famer and OSU alum Gary Payton for sixth place on the Pac-12's all-time scoring list.

Making things more memorable? Payton was in attendance to watch his son, Gary Payton II, lead the Beavers with 17 points.

Following Thursday's action, Randle has 2,176 points for his career, four more than Payton. But Randle still has a ways to go if he wants to catch up with current Pac-12 Networks analyst and all-time conference leader Don MacLean, who racked up 2,608 points for UCLA from 1988-92.
