Steve Sarkisian apologizes again, will seek treatment

USC head football coach Steve Sarkisian apologized again on Tuesday for his conduct at the school's Salute to Troy event over the weekend, saying that he would be seeking treament at the urging of Athletic Director Pat Haden.

During his Tuesday morning press conference, Sarkisian said he had mixed medication with a small amount of alcohol before speaking at the even this past weekend, during which he slurred his words and criticized opponents.

“I took medication, I mixed it with alcohol, not a lot, unfortunately, and I responded in a way that was not acceptable,” Sarkisian said about his behavior at Saturday's event. When asked if he has a drinking problem, he said, “No I don’t believe so. But through Pat [Haden] and through the university, I’m going to find that out."

Quarterback Cody Kessler and linebacker Su'a Cravens also briefly addressed the media, offering support for their head coach and saying that the team is behind Sarkisian. 

"We're the same team," Cravens said. "Nothing has changed. We're a tight locker room, we have a great coaching staff. Everybody makes mistakes, but we're going to focus on the season." Video of Kessler and Cravens' comments also is posted to to YouTube, seen here:
