California’s KK Limbhasut, Stanford’s Andrea Lee Take October Golf Honors

SAN FRANCISCO - KK Limbhasut of CALIFORNIA and Andrea Lee of STANFORD have been named the Pac-12 Men’s and Women’s Golfers of the Month for October, the Pac-12 announced today.

Limbhasut, a junior from Loma Linda, Calif., led Cal to its first team win in nearly two years at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational (Oct. 9-10) by taking medalist honors for the third time in his collegiate career. He posted both the lowest 54-hole total and best two rounds of his career by twice besting a round of 66 that he had shot on nine previous occasions with a 15-under 198 (64-65-69). 
 
Following his win, Limbhasut helped Cal to a second consecutive team victory at the prestigious Tavistock Collegiate Invitational (Oct. 22-24) that featured four top-10 teams. The Golden Bears trailed by nine shots entering the third and final round but rallied for a one-stroke win. Limbhasut tied for 17th with a 1-under 215 (73-70-72). Cal had last won back-to-back events during the 2014-15 campaign.

Statistically Speaking: The Pac-12 has four men’s golfers ranked among the top eight on Golfstat.com with No. 3 Justin Suh, USC (68.22); No. 4 Brandon Wu, Stanford (68.78); TNo. 8 Collin Morikawa, California (69.11); TNo. 8 Spencer Tibbits, Oregon State (69.11).
 
Lee, a sophomore from Hermosa Beach, Calif., capped the month of October with a win at the Nanea Pac-12 Preview (Oct. 23-24) in Hawaii shooting a solid 5-under 68 in the final round. It equaled the best score vs. par in the last round of this event as she posted a final scorecard of 9-under 137 (69-68) for the tournament. 
 
Earlier in the month, Lee finished tied for third with a 4-under 212 (74-69-69) at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate (Sept. 30 – Oct. 3). Lee continued her dominance at Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach as she finished tied for medalist honors with a 6-under 207 (69-71-67) at the Stanford Intercollegiate (Oct. 16-18).
 
Over the course of the month, Lee compiled seven rounds under par, including six rounds in the 60s. She has posted 12 top 10 finishes in 14career starts, while winning three of her five starts this Fall, earning her a spot as the No. 1 candidate on the ANNIKA Award Watch List.
