Washington

The new College Football Playoff Top 25 comes out Tuesday afternoon, and Kevin McGuire of NBC Sports writes that Washington is the Pac-12’s best bet for a playoff participant as the conference’s lone one-loss team. The Dawgs should move up a bit from their previous ranking of No. 12 thanks to losses from Oklahoma State, Penn State and THE Ohio State University.

Arizona

Arizona men’s basketball junior Allonzo Trier was named an Associated Press Preseason All-American Monday, alongside Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, Notre Dame’s Bonzie Colson, Villanova’s Jalen Brunson and Missouri’s (but almost Washington’s) Michael Porter, Jr (AZ Desert Swarm).

Arizona State

From Sunday – Arizona State won the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship in Tempe, giving the Sun Devils’ triathlon team its second national championship in just their second year of existence.

Colorado

Colorado offensive lineman Tim Lynott, Jr., is out for the season after tearing his Achilles tendon in the first quarter of the Buffs’ 41-30 loss to Arizona State on Saturday night. Brian Howell has more details.

Oregon

Andrew Nemec of The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that Oregon men’s basketball is expected to sign five-star prospect Louis King and four-star power forward Miles Norris on Wednesday.

Stanford

Stanford’s Corey Baird was named Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week after scoring a combined 3 goals in wins over UCLA and San Diego State to help the Cardinal clinch its fourth consecutive Pac-12 title.

California

Cal men’s basketball defeated Providence 81-52 in an exhibition game Monday night at Haas Pavilion, and that’s the Pac-12 Networks recap. I know what you’re thinking – that’s not the “real” Providence out of the Big East, that’s an NAIA school they were playing.

Utah

Where has “Sack Lake City” gone for Utah football? That’s a question that the Utes (and Christopher Kamrani of The Salt Lake Tribune) are pondering at the moment. A year after leading the Pac-12 in sacks (43 on the season), the Utes are tied for 10th in the conference with 15 sacks.

Washington State

Theo Lawson tells us that Washington State men’s basketball will try to pick up the pace this year and play a more up-tempo brand of shooty hoop. The Cougs are picked to finish last in the Pac-12 in 2017-18.

Oregon State

Oregon State interim head football coach Cory Hall talks about targeting in this Danny Moran piece, saying that he “would probably have been ejected every game” if today’s rules were in place when he played. Two Beavers were ejected for targeting in Saturday’s 37-23 loss to Cal.

USC

Joey Kaufman of The Orange County Register gives us an early look at USC’s next game at Colorado Saturday afternoon. Win and the Trojans are headed to Santa Clara.

UCLA

Meanwhile, Thuc Nhi Nguyen gives us a quick preview of UCLA’s next game against Arizona State Saturday night at the Rose Bowl. Bruins need to go 2-1 in the last three weeks to avoid missing back-to-back bowl games for the first time in nearly 30 years.
