Arizona State Men's Basketball coach reprimanded, fined $10,000

Feb 26, 2018

SAN FRANCISCO – The Pac-12 Conference has reprimanded Arizona State University men’s basketball head coach Bobby Hurley and issued a fine of $10,000 for his inappropriate conduct toward the officiating crew at the conclusion of Arizona State’s game at Oregon State on Saturday, Feb. 24, Pac-12 Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Following the conclusion of the contest, Hurley followed and verbally confronted officials as they exited the court.

“The public post-game conduct by Arizona State men’s basketball head coach Bobby Hurley violates Conference policy and this type of behavior will not be tolerated,” said Commissioner Scott.

“The Conference assigns a high priority for administrators, coaches and student-athletes to support its officiating program,” added Scott. “Chasing and confronting an official or officiating crew after the contest fails to meet these high standards.”

Proceeds of the fine will go toward the Pac-12 student-athlete scholarship fund.
